All the possibilities for overnight stays around the Stockholm airport of Arlanda had been exhausted. When Swedish hotelier Oscar Diös was hunting for a building in the vicinity of the airport for opening a youth hostel, by chance he came across the dilapidated Boeing: The idea for a Jumbohostel was born.Before the first guest can check in at the end of this year, the jumbo needs to be shifted to its final location behind the freight shed. Then rebuilding will start. Altogether 81 beds will be fitted into 29 sleeping cabins in the belly of the plane. Some of the cabins will be equipped with shower and WC, with other sanitary facilities being installed in the rear of the plane. The priciest sleeping facility will be a suite located in the cockpit. A reception area, lounge and breakfast service will complete transformation of the Boeing into a hostel.
